Missouri Grocers Association - Insurance Trust
Workers' Compensation Insurance

The Missouri Grocers Association - Insurance Trust (MGA-IT) is a group self-insured Workers' Compensation program designed to control the escalating cost of such insurance coverage for those in, or associated with, the grocery industry. Started in 1995, the program has a history of reducing cost by strict attention in loss control and claims management and passing savings back to members. The program is rated one of the best in the State of Missouri and has continued to grow in importance and membership. For rates call the MGA office at 800-260-4642.

Administration/Marketing
All administrative, general accounting, marketing, sales and related services will be handled internally by the plan sponsor, the Missouri Grocers Association, 315 North Ken Avenue, Springfield, Missouri 65802.

First Report of Injury
This report must be typewritten and you may obtain this form on-line by clicking on www.mgainstrust.com which will take you to the Trust web site.
On the home page click on the claims tab at the left margin, then click on the First Report of Injury Link. The form on the above web site can be completed online and then printed.
After printing these forms you must fax them to the Trust’s claim department at Alternative Risk Services LLC at Fax: 913-647-4900.

Membership Underwriting/Eligibility Guidelines

1. Applicant must be a member in good standing of the Missouri Grocers Association and engaged primarily in the retail grocery or food brokerage business.
2. Applicant must have been in business a minimum of three years.
3. Applicant's cumulative loss ratio over preceeding three full policy years must not exceed 70% and experience mod of 1.10 or less with prudent exceptions as approved by the Board of Trustees.
4. Applicant must submit selected financial information, as required by the State of Missouri, confirming a positive financial condition and ability to pay future premiums. Pursuant to the Trust's Operating Procedures, this financial information is to be furnished only the State Division of Workers' Compensation and maintained in a confidential status.
