Effective October 1, 2022 retailers will no longer be permitted to exchange Abbott brand formula included in the recall that was purchased with WIC benefits as participants should no longer have recalled product on hand to exchange.
The alternative formula options will now be available until at least October 31, 2022.
The Temporary Formula Alternatives 8-25 reflect the updated end date. No changes were made to the alternative formula options. Please consider providing a copy of the chart to cashiers at checkout lanes and customer service desks. Remember to discard all previous charts as they will not be accurate on August 25.
To clarify, please note that retailers shall continue to allow WIC customers the ability to exchange defective, spoiled, or expired formula for the identical item purchased.
